“There’s the scarlet thread of murder running through the colorless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it.” Sir Arthur Conan Doyle from the Sherlock Holmes book, A Study in Scarlet.
Robert A. Waters is the author of six true crime books. His latest, co-authored with Sim Waters, is entitled Guns and Self-Defense: 23 Inspirational True Crime Stories of Survival with Firearms. The book describes dramatic cases of would-be victims who used guns to defend themselves, their families, and even complete strangers. Based on interviews with victims, police reports, court documents, 9-1-1 calls, media accounts, and other sources, Guns and Self-Defense recounts the courage and resourcefulness of armed citizens who fought back—and won. Guns and Self-Defense is only the first in a series to come.
Robert A. Waters was born in Ocala, Florida and graduated from high school in Jacksonville. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He worked for twenty-five years with the developmentally disabled.
