Biography

Robert A. Waters is the author of six true crime books. His latest, co-authored with Sim Waters, is entitled Guns and Self-Defense: 23 Inspirational True Crime Stories of Survival with Firearms. The book describes dramatic cases of would-be victims who used guns to defend themselves, their families, and even complete strangers. Based on interviews with victims, police reports, court documents, 9-1-1 calls, media accounts, and other sources, Guns and Self-Defense recounts the courage and resourcefulness of armed citizens who fought back—and won. Guns and Self-Defense is only the first in a series to come.

Robert A. Waters was born in Ocala, Florida and graduated from high school in Jacksonville. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He worked for twenty-five years with the developmentally disabled. Married to his wife of 46 years, his interests include writing, blogging, church work, collecting guitars, and researching old-time hillbilly music.
